Jan Slezak, MD

Dr. Slezak graduated summa cum laude from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, with a medical degree in 1986. He then completed a residency in General Surgery and trained in Cardiac and Vascular Surgery at the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases at the University Hospital in Bratislava. He is board certified in surgery in the Slovak Republic.

After coming to the United States, Dr. Slezak completed an internship and a residency in Anesthesia at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Pain Management at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in June of 1997, after which he joined the staff of the MGH Pain Center and for years worked as a consultant at Mass General Hospital.

Dr. Slezak is board certified both in Pain Management and Anesthesiology and his area of specialty is interventional management of spinal pain. Dr. Slezak is also a graduate of the UCLA medical acupuncture program. He serves as the medical director and principal investigator for the Northeast Pain Research Center. Dr. Slezak has been extensively published in heart research, molecular biology and pain medicine. Dr. Slezak joined our current practice in 1997 and he sees patients in Barrington, Gilford, Laconia and Rye.
