Hillside Surgery Center

Quality Care

Although an ASC is outside the traditional acute care setting, Hillside Surgery Center provides it’s patients with highly trained, professional staff. We have preadmission nurses who screen patients for appropriateness of health for this outpatient setting. Our receptionist checks patients in and completes some necessary paperwork. Perioperative registered nurses begin care in the preoperative area where providing a thorough nursing assessment. Intraoperative staff consists of registered nurses and surgical technologists who assist anesthesia and physicians during the surgical phase of care. Postoperatively, experienced post-anesthesia nurses care for patients during recovery. Hillside Surgery Center also employees ancillary staff such as central sterile reprocessing specialist who care for the instruments and equipment at our facility. All Hillside Surgery Center staff are required to be certified in Basic Life Support. All critical care areas such as operating room and recovery area nurses have Advance Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Life Support training in order to better care for our patient population. Because we are committed to providing high level care, all staff are required to be certified to specialty areas within two years of hire (ie: Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR), Certified Central Sterile Reprocessing (CSR), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN).
